Training Ride - Tour de Max
On Sun. Aug. 10 my long time friend Bruce and I did a 70+ mile ride that had more climbing than I would have chosen to do outside of an organized ride. It was very challenging and was advertised to have over 7,000 feet of climbing. My GPS calculated 13,000+ feet of climbing. Surprisingly I didn't feel too bad afterwards. I was generally tired but didn't need a nap and my legs were barely sore the next day. The only weird thing was my hands were tired and still are three days later. For the first two days I didn't have very good motor control and not enough strength to open even a water bottle. I'm going to see if I can post a link to the route map.
